This is really good and shows great depth with the overlaping of figures. The only suggestion is that I felt the two girls on the left...

Justice League Cards are here!!!

Mon Nov 23, 2009, 1:29 PM
After many delays, the JLA archives cards are here. They hit stores last week and they look fantastic. I just picked up my box today and pulled a card from John Haun. I was hoping to pull a card from :iconpencilmachine: He did a great job on his cards. People are even selling a few of the cards on Ebay. The wait was long but totally worth it. Please pick up a pack if you see them. I will be posting most of the 200 cards that I worked on. Please let me know what you think.

Hey Mark,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I've been super busy. You work looks pretty good. You should try to focus on turn arounds. That is what most of my work consists of. Try to make a figure look like its in the same pose from all angles. You should pick up J. Scott Cambells sketch book, it has a lot of good turn around shots. As for breaking into the business, it's just like anything else...who you know. The brother of my best fried works in the Transformers department and I showed him some of my work and he gave me a few jobs. Then I went to the Hasbro vendor fair to showcase my work. The only problem is that it is invite only and you have to know someone. After that I met other designers and got my name around. Its tough and it will take hard work just like anything else. But stay posative and never stop drawing.

Hey Bobby,
Thats ok..thanks again for the advice =) so I guess I just gotta put my nose to the grind and just keep working at it..and see what happens..its good to hear you are busy cause that means work is good :) I'm doing some freelance work right now..but its hard cause the jobs just come and go..what is your opinion on doing comic book pencils? do you think its a stable career or is toy design a better path to take?
:iconvala316:
Hey,
Sorry again for taking so long to get back to you. I would not recomend a future in comic book pencils. I went to the Kubert school and was the top of my class however, it's another one of those "who ya know" kind of businesses. There once was a time when you can show your work to an editor at a con and get work but I feel like everyone does that now and the editors are sick of it. There is so much talent out there to choose from that it's hard unless you have something fresh and sometimes that doesn't even last long. Sorry to sound so negative but I spend 8 years trying to break into that business and now i'm finally on the right track. The best advise I can give is stay fresh and always have something new to bring to the table.

Its cool, I know you're busy with work...I was just curious to get your thoughts on that..cause I haven't talked to many comic artists about what they think the current market is like.I think I'll try my hand at 3d work in gaming..hopefully its a more stable enviornment..thanks again for all advice..I'll just keep working on my art and see where it takes me..have a good one! =)

Thanks for adding me;-)
